April 5 was a historic day for both NASA and the ESA as well as the Soviet Space program as it Witnessed the first successfull completely automated docking of the French built 22 tonn Jules Verne ATV.
The ATV ( Automated Transfer Vehicle ) is a critical component in NASAs plan for returning to the Moon.
It was launched from the French site in Kourou aboard an Ariane 5 HLV
Ive been flying this same mission in Orbiter for over six months but it good to see that the real thing actually works as advertised.
It wasn't a bad birthday present either.
